Get Connected

Sunday School

9:45am Every Sunday

Sunday School is our weekly small group discipleship ministry with groups for all ages. These groups are one of the primary pathways to becoming active in the life and ministry of the church. They’re a place where you can engage with others in Bible study, fellowship, prayer, and ministry.

Whether you are new in your faith or have followed Jesus for years, you’ll find a group ready to welcome you and walk with you on your journey. We invite you to discover the class that’s right for you and take your next step in growing closer to Christ.

Wednesday Night Life Groups

While our students are participating in choirs, youth, and mission groups, our adult small groups participate from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There are groups specifically for men and women, and there are co-ed groups that are appropriate for all. Most of these groups use short-term studies for semesters, so these groups are the perfect opportunity to grow in your faith and get connected with other believers.

Children's Ministry

We want our children to grow into devoted followers of Christ that are active in the Great Commission. Our goal is to provide a place where children are safe, able to learn about Jesus, and are able to have fun! We have weekly ministries specific for children, and we’re intentional in involving our children in the life of the church through mission projects, special events, and our children’s choirs.

On Sundays, we have age-graded Sunday School classes, where children can learn from the Bible alongside their friends. During our worship services, we also have a time where children are able to go to Children’s Church where they’ll have a special lesson from our children’s director. On Wednesdays, we have Royal Ambassadors (RA’s), Girls in Action (GA’s), and Mission Friends. These children’s groups are a place where kids can sing, learn about Jesus, and explore stories of missionaries from all over the world.

Student Ministry

We want students to grow in their faith, pursue Christ daily, and be emboldened to share their love of God with the world. Our goal is to provide a discipleship-based student ministry with weekly opportunities for fellowship and worship. Throughout the year, we offer additional opportunities for students like Disciple Now Weekend, mission trips, camps, retreats, and other fun activities!

On Wednesdays, our student services are focused on creating an atmosphere where middle and high school students can come to worship, learn, and grow together. We meet at 6:30 in the youth room for that service, and students are encouraged to hang around before and after the service for fellowship and refreshments.

On Sunday mornings, our student group meets at 9:45 in the youth room. We focus on spending time in the Word and discussing topics from a biblical perspective.

Women's Ministry

Our Women’s Ministry’s goal is to be a ministry for women of all ages, seasons, and backgrounds to gather in community and grow in Christ. This ministry helps coordinate some of our women’s discipleship groups and are intentional in planning events and service opportunities for women to engage in ministry together.

Men's Ministry

Our Men’s Ministry seeks to be Christ-centered and community-driven. We strive to connect men to the gospel and provide accountability through events and discipleship opportunities geared toward men. Our ministry exists to provide the tools and resources to go out into the community and show Christ love through action.

Senior Adult Ministry

Our Senior Adult Ministry is central to the life of our church. We have several active senior adult Sunday School classes, monthly XYZ meals, and other fellowship events throughout the year. Our senior adults serve in nearly every area of the church as they connect, serve, and minister in so many ways.

Boy Scout Troop 217

First Baptist Church is a sponsor for Boy Scout Troop 217. These Boy Scouts learn outdoor skills, grow as leaders, and develop lasting memories.  Led by men with years of experience, this incredibly active Troop has developed a rich history and provided a pathway for over 60 young men to earn the rank of Eagle Scout throughout the years. Troop 217 is a community troop with boys from all over Stephens County and many different churches.  Every boy is welcome who is at least eleven years old or in the sixth grade.  The troop meets in the Scout Hut building behind the FBC on Wednesday at from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
